Dr Penny Wilson joins the Grow team all the way from Australia. She grew up in Perth and completed her medical degree at the University of Western Australia in 2006. She attained the Advanced Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2010 and completed her general practice training in 2012. She has an interest in medical education and is a director of Western Australian General Practice Education and Training.

Penny spent the last few years working in the tiny paradise of Broome in the remote north-west of Australia, but her feet got itchy and it was time for a new adventure and a change of scenery. Now she finds herself on the west coast of an entirely different country in beautiful Victoria. Outside of work she enjoys getting out into nature, making music and eating good food, so the Island seemed like a good fit. 

She is testing the waters of Canadian life for a year. Who knows? She might just decide to stay forever, or perhaps she’ll head back Down Under. But don’t worry, the wonderful Dr Downs is waiting in the wings to take over the care of her patients.
